Jim Howard
Title: Operating Advisor

As an Operating Advisor, Jim Howard is responsible for sourcing deals, providing critical insights on competitive market dynamics, and advising on sales and marketing strategy across our portfolio. 

 

Jim is currently a Senior Vice President at Carbolytic Materials, which is a start-up company in the renewable resources space.  Prior to joining Ennovance, Jim was the President of Columbian Chemicals in North America, a global provider of high-quality carbon black additives and specialty chemical products.  As a Senior Executive with over 25 years of experience, he held various other senior management positions such as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Sales, and Technology at Columbian Chemicals, Vice President and General Manager of Solutia, Inc. (formerly Monsanto Chemical Company), as well as various Director and Business Director positions at Monsanto Chemical Company.  His industry experience covers a broad range of chemical verticals including plastics, rubber, fibers, resins, coatings, specialty and commodity chemicals, and building and fabricated products.

Jim’s experience in mergers and acquisitions (with both public companies and PE firms), business turnarounds, and strategy development, enables him to develop opportunities for organic growth as well as strategic acquisitions, while capitalizing on internal opportunities without sacrificing competitive advantage.

Jim holds a B.S. in Chemistry and a M.S. degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada.  He also attended Columbia’s Executive Marketing Program.
