Ralph A. Harris

Ralph A. Harris has over 35 years of experience in strategy, operations, and mergers and acquisitions with both large public companies and bulge-bracket investment banking firms.  Ralph led transactions which resulted in the acquisition of, or investment in, over 100 companies including Fortune 500 companies like Campbell Soup Company ($7.8 billion in annual sales) and The Quaker Oats Company (now PepsiCo with $43 billion in sales).  Ralph developed his M&A transaction experience as an investment banker with Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc., where he advised a wide variety of companies and private equity firms on mergers and acquisitions and capital raises (both equity and debt) in public and private markets.

Ralph earned his M.B.A. from Harvard University and a holds a B.A. in Economics and International Studies from Brown University. 

Ralph is the author of “The Real Deal” (Association of the Bar of the City of New York) and “Determining the Right Price to Pay”, The Handbook of Mergers, Acquisitions and Buyouts.  He taught for several years in Columbia University’s Executive Education program and frequently is invited to speak at industry conferences and professional organizations, particularly on how corporate buyers should plan and execute their M&A programs.
