Michael J. Friesema
Title: Operating Advisor

As an Operating Advisor, Michael Friesema is responsible for sourcing deals, performing due diligence, and providing critical insights on competitive market dynamics.

Mike brings nearly 30 years of operating experience in the food ingredient, specialty chemical, industrial biotechnology, and agricultural processing industries.  As a Vice President and General Manager, he has global business experience with Corn Products International (revenue $3.6B/year), a large multi-national chemical company.  Mike has also been involved in the establishment and management of several entrepreneurial companies and played a key role in numerous M&A transactions.  Beyond his P&L leadership experience, Mike has a very strong manufacturing, engineering, finance, and technical background.  He also has over 30 years experience serving on a variety of for-profit and not-for profit Boards of Directors.

Mike earned both a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an M.B.A. from Michigan Technological University.  He is based in Chicago.
