Darwin H. Simpson
Title: Operating Advisor

As an Operating Advisor, Major General Darwin H. Simpson (Retired) is responsible for performing due diligence, assisting in deal execution and providing critical advice on operational restructuring across our portfolio.  He is a seasoned and highly accomplished Senior Executive with over 35 years of experience leading both a large global company and serving our nation as a US Army Major General (Retired).

 

Darwin was most recently a President and CEO of Univar Corp., a global chemical distribution company (annual revenue over $7 billion). He is a seasoned corporate strategist who played a critical role executing over 30 middle market sized transactions, which were valued at over $2B during his three decade career with VW&R/Univar.

 

Darwin is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College and the US Army War College. His awards include the Legion of Merit, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, etc. He is also a Veteran of the War on Global Terrorism (Operation Noble Eagle).

 

Darwin serves on a number of boards such as Chairman of the Board of St. Luke’s Free Medical Clinic, a board member of Palmetto Council, Boy Scouts of America, and many more.

 

Darwin holds a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Arkansas and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.
